Prophetic Mentorship

What is prophetic mentorship or mentoring? Can you find it in the bible? No you will not find mentorship or mentoring in the bible, but you will find the same concept. The biblical term for mentorship is discipleship. So why do we use the term mentorship or prophetic mentorship? We use mentorship simply because it a more popular and widespread term. So whenever you see the term mentorship or mentoring in our writings, remember that we are talking about discipleship and nothing else.

Why Prophetic Mentorship?

Some of the questions that many people ask when it comes to training are, “why do I need a mentor to train me?” “is prohetic mentorship necessary for my training?” Some people will say things like, “well, God called me so only God will train me”, “ I don’t need man to train me, the Holy Spirit will train me.” So if you have some of those questions, they will be answered here.

There are two ways in which God can train you: Train you Himself or Use one of His servants to Train you. Discipleship or prophetic mentorship involves God using His trained servants to train others.

So if someone says that they don’t need man to train them and that God would do it, they are not totally wrong. But unfortunately many people in that category use this as an excuse because they can’t submit to authority. They have a ‘spirit of independence’ and they don’t want to depend on anyone. This in itself is a very big problem that the Lord will have to address during prophetic preparation before they can even start any kind of training. So I am not talking about those people here. But I would like you to know that there are people that are trained by the Lord alone in secret. Usually they are people that the Lord has called to break new grounds because the Lord is taken His people to new areas and grounds that nobody has been before. If it is an area where nobody has been before then you agree that there is nobody to train anybody. So in these circumstances the Lord does the work directly. But even in these cases God still use man to help in the process. Because you need to understand that God always works through the agency of man in the earth.

Some typical biblical examples that fall in this category are Moses, Elijah and the Lord Jesus. These guys where trained directly by the Lord Himself. They did not go through any form of discipleship or mentorship. They were all breaking new grounds.

Now since God can train His servants directly, why do we have discipleship or prophetic mentorship? If you have read about prophetic training on our website, you will know by now about God’s pattern for training. God’s pattern and order for training is discipleship and it has always been so since the beginning of time.

So why does God seem to favour mentorship or discipleship instead of training directly? If you look at the life of the three Bible Heroes that I mentioned above you will notice one thing that they have in common: The length of their training. Their training was very long. How long did God train Moses for?

23″When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his fellow Israelites…. 30″.After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.” Acts 7:23&30

It took God fourty years to train Moses. We know that the Lord Jesus started his ministry at the age of 30. So God doesn’t mind training this way but it takes too long. If you have ever been in any kind of training or have ever learned something the hard way, you know that it takes times. If you look at your own spiritual life, you will see that it took you maybe 5 years to learn and understand just one truth.

But it is interesting to see what follows after those three men were released to start their ministries. Each one of them took under their wings disciples to train. Jesus had the 12, Moses had Joshua and Elijah had Elisha. Just compare the training times and you will see the difference. Jesus took just 3 years to train His disciples through discipleship or mentorship. God spent less time training the disciples of Jesus, Elisha and Joshua.

If you know anything about God’s prophetic clock for these end times, you will know that God does not have time to waste. He doesn’t want to be taking 40 or 50 years to train just one servant for His work. Jesus is coming soon; He is longing to see His Bride ready. If you are a married man, I am sure you remember the day you were ready in the church building waiting for your bride to arrive on time and for the wedding ceremony to start. But likewise your bride could not wait to see you, her bridegroom. It is the same with Christ and His church. This is expressed in revelation 22: 17 & 20,

“17The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”

“20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

Yes even so come Lord Jesus! If you want proof, just look around you in the natural, look at technology, science etc… Just in the last 20 years. Why do you think things are going so fast? What you see now in the natural is a reflection of what is taking place in the spirit. Satan is working very fast because his time is short; do you think that God is sleeping? No He is raising up His warriors.

Didn’t Jesus say,

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Luke 10:2

He wants to send out His workers in the field, but how can He send them if they are not ready? How can they be ready if they are not trained? He wants to do it and He is doing it right now around the world. His order and pattern for achieving this is through discipleship or mentorship, where those who are trained don’t keep it to themselves but rather pass it on to others. This is why we have this prophetic mentorship program to train and raise up those that God send us.

Prophetic mentorship or discipleship is God’s fast track system for training His servants. I spoke about how prophetic preparation can take you easily between 10 to 30 years before you can even be ready for prophetic training. Do you remember? Well, God has got a solution for it and it is called mentorship or discipleship or prophetic mentorship for prophets. Prophetic mentorship is also the fastest route to go through your training.

You see, you can go quicker and faster during prophetic mentorship because those whom God has raised up to train you have already walked the road before you. They know the pitfalls and the mistakes to avoid. They know the traps and the distractions that can waste your time. They will take your hand and lead you through the shortcuts. Isn’t it amazing how much time you save when you have a guide to show you where to go during holidays? Without those guides who know the area, you could be lost and spend most of your holiday time search instead of enjoying it. Just as we are grateful to those guides who save us time and energy you should be grateful to God for those He has raised up to train you because they didn’t have it when they were being trained. They had to go the long and hard way.

But you do not have to. The Lord has given an option to avoid the long and hard way and it is called prophetic mentorship if you are called to the prophetic ministry.

So today the choice is yours, you have before you two paths for your training: The Long and hard way and the fast track system – prophetic mentorship, which is offered to you by WhatsNewInTheProphetic.Com. If you are interested in prophetic mentorship then you have come to the right place, just apply and your application will be considered.
