Hi lam not shure why lam not flowing in prophecy like l use to, God would give me visions at home and l would come in and say what the Lord was showing me, it kind of bothers me because my Pastor is looking for me to give a word when the spirit is high , l have notice that when it is time for the ministers to speak only times 2 a year  ,the Lord would use me in the prophetic, l have been fasting alot lately to make shure there is no lines of communication clogged up.l just want to do my part in the ministy.Bertina Britton

Please understand that the gifts are not for You but for the body of Christ.

We read,

"7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." 1 corinthians 12:7&11

The gifts of the Spirit are the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and He operates them as HE WILLS. It means He decides when to operate them and how. All you need to be is a vessel and let Him do His work. When He speaks you speak, when He is quite, you are quite. Many people get into deception because they try to force a revelation or prophecy. Be careful.

The key, however to flow more in the Spirit is to be more other oriented and have the desire to minister to others. Because  the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. As long as there is no selfish motives but a real desire to minister to God's people, He will move and manifest His gifts but in His own terms. You don't need to force it or do anything. Just  make yourself available.

I have to agree completely with Patrice.

 I would like to add to that if that's ok. I was in a similar situation years ago and i fasted and prayed and really got upset that i wasn't getting a word in the same situation. after the pressure was off of me and the Pastor stopped looking to me for a word every service, the prophetic began to flow and greater measure. i spoke to the Lord about it one morning and the reply i got was "crutch. you were used as a crutch. I need them dependent on me, not you. don't take it personally". i was greatly relieved after that. i was under some condemnation thinking that i did something wrong to stop the prophetic flow.

my advice: always be careful to steer everyone back to Jesus as the source. teach them to prophesy (even simple edification that all can do). the Holy Spirit will always glorify Jesus and give Him the glory, not us the glory. if you ever feel even the slightest bit of pride because of your gift, be careful.

having said all of that...be blessed. I pray the Lord anoints you mightily and expands your gifts.
