To the Team Members:

Hello, I am new to this forum.  Since early this year, I have been sensing the possibility of God leading me into prophetic ministry.  I was seeking God and in a period of fasting and prayer when prophetic ministry dropped into my spirit and would not leave.  Since then, I have had an interest in the prophetic like never before.

When I looked up some of the characteristics of those called to this kind of ministry, I could identify with majority of them (rejection, failure, ready to do exploits for God one day, and depressed/discouraged the next, etc).  My question is, how do you know if you are really called to that type of ministry, and how will it be confirmed?  I am not trying to go out and start a ministry or anything.  I just want to be prepared for whatever God has called me to do.  I am currently a member of my church's intercessory prayer team and I love it.  I just want to make sure it is not me trying to fabricate things.

God bless,
Lisa

Hi Lisa

Thanks for being the first on this new forum and it will be my pleasure to answer your question. There are two passages of scripture that will help you.

13 It is God who produces in you the desires and actions that please him. Philippians 2:13

16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, Romans 8:16

Two important words to remember when it comes to your calling. DESIRE and CONVICTION. In Philipians it says that it is God who produces the DESIRES to please Him. What many believers are not aware of, is that God's call on your life is in line with your core desires - those that will not go away like you said. This part is actually the easiest but the second part is what most people find harder, the CONVICTION part because it is about having this personal revelation from the Spirit of God that testifies with your spirit that you are indeed called to be a prophet. And this is one of the functions of the prophetic ministry to help believers identify their callings by helping them reach that place of conviction.

Without this personal conviction, it will be very difficult to raise up as the leader God has called you to be. You need that conviction. This why having the appropriate training is so important. In the first part of our training program this is what we try to achieve so that by the time you finish this part you know that you know that you know that you know without a shadow of a doubt that the Lord had indeed called you.

If this will help you at all, I would like you to know that you have indeed been called to the prophetic, it is clear in the spirit. All you need is to get started with your training and rise up to be the mighty warrior God has called you to be. The search is over now says the Lord! It is time to be equipped! My anointing is on your life says the Lord now is time to be trained and learn how to use that anointing. As you do I will add the prophetic authority and you will indeed be a prophetic of the most high, says the Lord.

Well Liza there you have it! The Lord himself has answered your question better. I hope this helps.

Hi Bertina,

I understand where you are coming from. This is very common in churches and there are many people in the prophetic who feel exactly the way you feel. The main problem is what the Lord says, "My people perish because of lack of knowledge".

There is very little knowledge and understand about how the prophetic ministry should operate in the church. But in a nutshell, understand that the prophetic ministry should operate and function in cooperation with the eldership of the local church.

Because the pastor is in charge of the local church, you can either share with his permission to do so, or simply give him the word and it is up to Him to share with the church or not. you would have done your bit.

But when you rise up to become a prophet in office, you are not simply limited to the local church an therefore there is more involved.

Our course prophetic utterance would definitely help you with this. Stay tuned as we will be releasing different courses and also make our lectures available as dvds and mp3 players to the wider public.

Hope this helps

Blessings

Hi there

Your question has already been answered on this board. Just scroll up and you will see that Lisa asked the same question which was answered.  I am sure you will find it useful.

We have also got an article entitled signs of the ' signs of prophetic calling', you can find it at  http://www.whatsnewintheprophetic.com/PropheticCalling. Read it and I am sure you will find it useful.

If after that you still have more questions, please don't hesitate to ask, ok?
